Flashback Friday
I saw this idea on someone else's blog and thought it was such a fun idea. I found these pictures a month ago and I was so excited over the idea of finding some pictures I hadn't seen in a long time and forgot about, these were the pictures I wanted to share first. We were living in the Layton Meadows apartments in a one bedroom.
We had fun in the summer in the pool at the apartments.

BDO Corporate games
At the Business Depot of Ogden which is where the Icon business buildings are, every year the BDO headquarters has an annual corporate games in Aug, where we have a week of games and play against the different companies in different sports. Icon had the most employees participating this year, we all had white matching shirts so we could be recognized as a company with our logo on it. There was games scheduled during the day and evening all week. Dodge ball, that was a hard game Icon kept playing back to back games and played the champs game against BDO staff.
The volleyball game.
Tuesday morning at 7am, My mom and I was in the 3K walk, it was fun to participate and get involved we didn't take first but we didn't take last either. Just in the middle somewhere :) These were all the Icon employees that participated in the walk.
My friend Linda .
The soccer game.
The softball game.
Some of the other games was golf, basketball, the bike race, the 5K run, racquetball and a few others. We all had team spirit and supported each other in the events. Some were very competitive but I guess that is what makes it fun. There was a lot that had aches, scrapes, and worn out bodies. Just depending on what you signed up for to play, some employees had more than one game a day, some events had to play back to back to determine the winning team. On Friday we had a lunch barbecue for all the employees given by BDO and the awards ceremony.
Icon took 1st place and took the trophy!!!

We are proud of Brian
We are so proud of Brian in our family for a few things lately. First of all he was able to advance as the Unloading container lead at Lifetime. It is a similar job what he did at Icon, so it was good news to know that he is making little advances in a fast way. People from Icon always ask me about him and hows he doing, they are so glad he is doing good, they know he is a hard worker. He is also making the attempt to quit his habit which is something we are really all happy about. It was a bit of a shocker when he first told us a week ago. Brian has always done so much for me and Braxton to make us happy, and that has
always been his main focus everyday in everything he does.

Hawaiian Luau
ALOHA we had a fun summer Hawaiian luau party. At the very beginning we got our leis before we could enter the Hawaiian islands in the backyard. Hint: I added the song Kokomo it just adds feeling to the luau pictures if you would like to listen to it.. it is just a suggestion thanks!
We ate really good shish-kabobs
Than we had family pictures taken
Afterwards we played some fun games, we first played "Going Coconuts" which was bowling, for the pins we used water bottles and coconuts for the bowling balls. Only 1 coconut cracked which was really good and we were still able to bowl with it. Everyone was curious to try the coconut juice and eat some of the inside.
Than we played water balloon volleyball and kickball which were both really wet games, BUT that wasn't the end we finished with a water balloon fight. That finally topped us all off getting pretty wet!!! It was FUN!
We lit the Tiki torches and we are leaving the islands
We came inside and all sat down and watched the really good video that McKenna had done all by herself. She had pictures of the past family parties that were really fun, and way back when the family just started with the kids and each addition of grandkids and married spouses.
These were our "Ocean cupcakes" that Braxton and McKenna made, Nathan made a pineapple upside down cake in the Dutch oven to top off the night with yummy desserts.
I would like to thank everyone in the family for making this a very nice Birthday party as well as a family party. McKenna, Braxton,( and Mom) had been planning for awhile to give me a surprise 40th birthday party Luau, but the last couple of weekends didn't work out and the party kept getting delayed they finally just told me and they went thru with it anyway. I was very flattered and shocked what they had been trying to plan. They went thru a lot of hard work and everyone had a really fun time. It was really fun to have another Luau again like we did 4 years ago. We were successfully able to eat outside this time for this one, the weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate with us, but it turned out great!! We missed Tyler, Tiffany and Nicholas with us.
