Marie's book signing
Today was Marie Osmond's book signing at the Deseret Book in Midvale......of course I was there ha-ha. I left pretty early in the day from work so when Braxton got out of school at 2:00 we were ready to head south. We made pretty good time with the traffic and arrived at the family shopping center where it was at in the corner of a strip mall. This time it was about 3:30 and we wandered around a bit into one other store. We had checked out the line before hand in the store and it wasn't long at all but Brian went to stand in line to hold our place. They were passing out some numbers on little papers so you could roam around the store and do some shopping and not have to worry about being in line (to reserve your spot) that was nice. We were 19, 20,and 21 in line. Pretty close to the first huh? We needed to return back to the line by 5:00, by this time was when a lot of people started coming. We were at the first but we were looking at the back of the line by the time it was 6:00 when she arrived. Than it got hectic, the guy from Channel Fox 13 showed up, he had a green John Deere shirt and was holding the BIG camera good clue huh? It was exactly 6:00 when she showed up and everybody was taking pictures as she got herself situated. She had a big Jamba Juice she was slurping on right in front of us. Those are the moments I love, the personal details. Than she turned around and was trying to pull her dress down in the back because her slit was kind of high and her garments were showing. I think she either felt it or her assistants told her. She was trying to be secretive, personal moment #2. She had got rolling a little bit with the line when she stopped and Marie said: "I have a story to tell you why I was late. " ( maybe on her schedule) in my words now not hers she was running late and forgot her spray whatever she uses on her blouse to make it stiff so it doesn't move when she leans over. So she had to stop at the shoe store and buy some socks to stuff in her top instead. She cracked us up! personal moment #3. When it was our turn, somebody had mentioned that they needed to speed it up a little to Marie. Brian went first because we planned it that way so he could take the pictures but Marcia Willkie she is all in black in a picture and co-author of the book was taking pictures and video for people. It was kind of pushed and we had mention that we were a family. They let us have a family picture but thought we were done and were taking the picture of the next group behind us. I hadn't gotten my book signed yet either so I told Marie's assistant and they apologized. We also had a picture and a Osmond tour book and My mom's doll for her to sign too. They asked us to leave as soon as we could. It is a Osmond tradition to eat at Carl's Jr. afterwards I don't know why but it is. Marie has a very special place in my heart, I have loved her ever since I was 7 years old. I look up to her and try to follow her she is such a good role model.
